About the recording: "Moving On" is a San Francisco Boys Chorus CD that was recorded in 2001 at the acoustically stunning Saint Ignatius Church in San Francisco. In it, Michael sings in one solo number and three trios, as well as in many ensemble selections. The solo is the Benedictus from Haydn's "Little Organ" Mass and the three trios are from Mozart's The Magic Flute. The CD was recorded in 2001 immediately following the very successful SF Opera production of The Magic Flute and features the same trio of boys that sang the trios in the production. Michael sings the top part.

Of the SF Opera production,  Lesley Valdes of the San Jose Mercury News wrote,

"....Exceptionally poignant was the focused intensity of the Three Boys (Ryan Irwin, Bryan Jolly and Michael Bannett, my favorite), the most persuasive singing-acting from boy sopranos that I've encountered in a live performance."
