"What can one say about Michael Bannett? This amazing singer has done it all...a wonderful televised duet with Charlotte Church, major child roles in the San Francisco Opera, a premier operatic work under Kent Nagano, live TV and radio interviews, lead roles in musical theater, and recordings ranging from folk to avant-garde….including ones with Donovan and Willie Nelson!"

Ian Robertson, Chorus Director, San Francisco Opera;   Artistic Director, San Francisco Boys Chorus

INTERNATIONAL AWARD !

March 2005: Journey Through the British Isles  wins an international award for Best Solo Treble Album of 2004!  This award was decided by vote of the listeners to Trebles.net, an internet radio station specializing in the music of boys choirs and boy soloists. Michael's "Beautiful Soup" album -- the winner of the 2002 award -- is still very popular with listeners, with four of its tracks in the 100-most-requested songs of 2004.

In Journey through the British Isles, Michael sings British Isles songs from the 17th to the early 20th centuries, masterfully arranged by Quilter, Liddell, Hughes, and others.  Accompanying Michael are superb musicians playing piano, classical guitar, 19th-century flute, viola da gamba, and other period instruments including baroque types of flute, piccolo, violin, viola, and cello.  Listen to samples
